Renegade Dumbbell Rows

When you think of useful and common abdominal workouts you might not initially think of a routine such as Renegade Dumbbell Rows. A somewhat confusing name to begin with, this moniker identifies a fairly straightforward routine performed with, you guessed it, dumbbells. Consider how the dumbbells are used in Renegade Dumbbell Rows in order to determine whether this exercise ranks highly in your book when compared to other abdominal workouts.

When you perform Renegade Dumbbell Rows you begin by choosing a pair of dumbbells that suit your size and abilities. Then, holding a dumbbell in each hand, you will put your body into a pushup position. Of course, rather than support your upper body with your palms, you will do so by gripping the dumbbells, which will rest on the ground. Then, keeping one hand and dumbbell in this position, you will raise the other one upward by bending at the shoulder. Lift the dumbbell high enough to bring your upper arm to where it is parallel with your torso, all the while keeping your lower arm vertical to the ground. After slowly bringing your hand back down to the ground, repeat the motion again as many times as needed to constitute a set of Renegade Dumbbell Rows, then switching sides in order to do the same number of Renegade Dumbbell Rows with the other arm. Although the Renegade Dumbbell Rows might not seem like other abdominal workouts because of their direct focus on the arms, this exercise does require a good deal of work from the abdominal muscles, which are essential for keeping the body supported and still during the repetitions.
